The host of the Summit - Equity International - has brought together more than 35,000 government officials, business leaders, humanitarian experts, diplomats, and others, to discuss solutions for critical issues. Our high-profile Washington forums have included reconstruction conferences for the Balkans (Bosnia, Croatia, Kosovo, Yugoslavia); Turkey (after the earthquakes); Central America (after Hurricane Mitch); Venezuela (after the floods); Afghanistan (2002); and Iraq (2003 and 2004). We’ve also organized four major conferences on the reconstruction of Louisiana and Mississippi following Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. And at this year’s World Disaster Response Summit, we focused on the earthquake in China and the floods in Burma.
